Cinema4d - Premiere Pro Presentation

Using the images provided we created a presentation using premiere pro. This is a software I have used in the passed but not extensively. After opening the Adobe software I created a new project and specified a location in which to save the file. I needed to create a new sequence; 'File' 'New Sequence' name the sequence and then select the preset  'HDV 1080p'  I imported the images using the 'Cmd I' and locating the files I wanted. I then dragged my first image onto the timeline, before adding a few more into the sequence. I used the same image for the opening and ending of my presentation. Selecting the first image on my timeline, I search for Blur in the Effects menu, and added Gaussian Blur effect. I sat the 'bluriness' to 30 and applied it to the beginning of the first image in the presentation. I applied 'default transitions to the beginnings and ends of all the images.  We were asked to add a title slide, selecting the type too

AfterEffects - Infographic

Rugby (Converted) from Jade Holmes on Vimeo . We were asked to create an infographic on AfterEffects to go into a group project. I wasn't in the lesson so used one of the sections that needed to go into the reel and created my own. Mine needed to be based around 'There are 13 players on a side in Rugby League' I created some of the elements in Illustrator.

AfterEffects - Z Space

Before class we were asked to create a one layered composition on Illustrator, ensuring every object was on a separate layer. This would make life easier when reopening the Illustrator file in Adobe AfterEffects. Once deciding on a space theme, I used royalty free images to create planets. When in illustrator I created simple circles and then used the 'Pathfinder Tool' to cut the texture into a planet shape. I used the pen tool to create my rockets and spaceships.   T he outcome of this workshop was to create 10 second movie using my prepared artwork, and to learn the use of 3D tools in After Effects, including cameras, pre-comps, building and constructing 3D scenes, textures and objects in addition to special effects. Sara gave as an excellent example of what we were going to learn how to achieve, and the extent of what the tools she was teaching us could achieve.  MGMT - All We Ever Wanted Was Everything from oneedo on Vimeo . Above is a screen of my

Self Publishing - Bread Typography

Nick sent an email around asking for us to bring in bread in for his workshop. We were then asked to create typography using the loaf we had brought with us.  I decided to then take the project further by using sugar.  Sugar from Jade Holmes on Vimeo .

Cinema4d - 3D Character

I first created a cube using the dimensions 400x100x200 and added segments 2x1x1. So I could see the segments I had to turn on 'Gourd Shading (lines)' which meant the separate polygons were visible. I right hand clicked on the object and when to 'make editable which means that I would be able to edit the object.  Making the centre two points selected using the points section tool I dragged it down 50/60 centimetres. I rotated round so I could see the top faces. In the tool bar I selected the faces two and selected the top two faces to begin to add more polygons onto my object. Right clicking brings up a menu, I selected extrude. When using the the extrude tool you would think you just drag the mouse in the direction you want extruding. This is not the case, to extrude correctly you need to drag the object to the right hand side while still holding the mouse button. I first extruded above what I already had to the value of 100. Using point editing mode I also the used the

AfterEffects - Rotoscoping

We were asked to create an animation using the technique called 'Rotoscoping' this a frame by frame animation using masks as the main tool for the animating. I first need to create a video in which I would rotoscoping over.  video-1534355282 from Jade Holmes on Vimeo . I start at the section that I believe I would need the most points. Using the pen tool I out lined my object.   Moving back frame by frame I began to move the points on the mask to keep in line with the movement of the hand in the video.  The main tools I was using where the pen tool, hand tool and the convert vertex tool. I then needed to shorten the video to the parts I animated which would give me an advance when creating a loop.  After selecting the layer I went to the layer drop down menu at the top of the screen and enable time remapping.  I then added the expression which would cause a continuous loop. Imported the textures I wanted to use : they are all from Pixabay (ro

Self Publishing - Typeface Stencils

Using three different typographys as reference were were asked create stencils using elements of the letters. When creating a relief from the stencil the piece would look abstract. Due to corrupt files the orginail work from the workshop was lost so I created more stencils using: Adabi MT condensed Extra Bold Didot  Cooper black. Improvising to use sprat cans as I do not own a roller. The class was based on using one colour I began to layer my designs to see what sort of designs I would be able to create when layering the colours.  The two outcomes below are the ones I believe to be the most successful.

Cinema4d - Prototypes

For this project we were to create 3D prototypes which would be useful when designing packaging for a client. The basics where given to us by Jay, i.e the shapes we needed in order to create the objects when using the Lathe tool. The reflectance tab was a key part of todays workshop as when adding a shiny surface, it helps makes the object look more realistic due to the added depth and texture.  I then designed some packaging for the carton. Using the brand Nature valley I design a cereal box which was called 'Healthy Oaty Stuff'

AfterEffects - The Hand

I first began by drawing the same image of a ninja three times. Due to the terrible quality of the photographs of the images I wanted to animate I decided to use illustrator to image trace each individually to improve the quality. I would usually use a scanner but did not have access to a working one at the time. When using my Mac at home I had an issue exporting jpegs from illustrator which would then work in AfterEffects. Although I could not figure out the reasoning I copied the ninjas over to photoshop and saved them as jpegs, which then worked in AfterEffects.  It was key to import the three jpegs into AfterEffects at the same time, when more than one file was selected the option 'importer JPEG sequence' was given to me. This was mean the images would be imported as a sequence so therefore I ticked it. Once the file has been imported I need to go to the 'File' dropdown menu at the top of the screen and select 'Interpret Footage' 'Main...'

Self Publishing - Stencils

This class was one which meant we were doing a lot of physical work. We were asked to pick a piece of paper out of a hat and then create a stencil which would explain to the audience what your word was with explanation. I received the word 'worker' although at first I thought of workers in fields which where physically demanding the stereotype is not something I wanted to settle with. I draw a fist holding a hammer and pencil. We then had to select another piece of paper. This time it was a sentence and we were tasked with creating a typographical stencil to overlay onto our previous image 'Gonna bring you down'  The outcome is below
